4. Lake Tana and its monasteries:

Lake Tana is not only the largest lake in Ethiopia, it is the source of the Nile River which contributes about 85% of the water to the world’s longest river, the Nile. Besides being important for its bird watching, fishing, and ecosystem. Lake Tana hides some important monasteries, churches, and Christian schools of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

Although avoiding contact with the outside world is almost impossible, they manage to preserve their lives and culture largely unchanged. The Omo Valley can be visited on a multi-day trip from Addis Ababa.
